Gulf Shores 2010

I know, I know, I didn't get any pictures posted last weekend, but better late than never, right? We went to Gulf Shores in May with Papaw and Nana. The kids had a blast and loved swimming in the "sea" as the boys called it. They loved splashing in the big waves and looking for crabs at night with flashlights. We made the trip a week before the oil hit the shore - here are some pictures from the trip (in no particular order).

We caught these guys one night - best total was 18 in one night!

These are some exhausted little ones....

I just love that they are actually splashing themselves in this battle that
lasted forever one afternoon.......
Daddy's girl

We took one hike through a nature reserve ......didn't see a single alligator

Connor insisted on carrying these binoculars on the hike....

Does a dragon live in this cave? (Actual question asked by kids on this trip)

This past Sunday, we took a day trip to Mammoth Cave in Kentucky....The kids did great traveling and really enjoyed taking a tour of one of the caves. Connor's favorite thing was the giant cave cricket he saw inside the cave. After the tour, we went to a little park to ride bumper cars and play putt-putt golf.....kids had a blast - didn't quite grasp the concept, but had fun nonetheless!

How cute is this??

My Little Green Thumbs

Mimi and Poppy gave the kiddos each a gardening bag with tools and seeds for Easter. They begged for days until the weather was warm enough to plant their tomatoes and peppers. We had a lot of fun (until Graycen poured an entire pitcher of water on our video camera :) and the boys have been checking everyday looking for signs of growth and watering their plants.

Happy Easter

We had a wonderful Easter this year! The kids enjoyed all of the Easter festivities this year, and Graycen was much more into it this year. We went to an egg hunt sponsored by a local church, went to our church's Easter service and had a nice Easter lunch with Gran-Gran. Here are some pictures we took that day....by the way, it's VERY difficult to get a picture with all of the kids smiling and looking at the camera :)

That Pesky Leprechaun

We have a book called "The Night Before St. Patrick's Day" that the boys love. In it, two kids try to catch a leprechaun who visits their house. The kids thought it would be really fun to make traps and try to catch any leprechauns that might come to our house. (We stole the idea for leaving the footprints from Ryan's brother Chris and his family :)) Here are some pictures from the attempt..........better luck next year!

Valentine's Fun

I've got to hand it to her, she has a way of figuring things out. We were playing in the family room when Graycen walked in drinking a cup of water!! I followed her to see where it came from..............

Valentine's Day!

Valentine's party with friends...

Opening gifts from the grandparents....

Just for fun, we had a little Valentine's party for some friends of the boys and Graycen. I enjoyed making LOTS of heart shaped snacks and the kids loved getting Valentines in their mailboxes. We bought these cute little metal mailboxes at the beginning of February, decorated them and then the kids got secret notes and notes from family and friends in the mailboxes everyday. They loved coming downstairs in the morning to see the flag up on their mailbox.
